Thanks so much for helping us spread awareness of mesothelioma and asbestos exposure to carers and the elderly.
Due to the long latency period of mesothelioma, approximately 20-50 years, about 80 percent of those who are diagnosed with this terrible disease are seniors. Our organization works with these individuals and their families to help them find local doctors, treatment centers and support groups.
Our patient advocates assist and provide resources for patients in the UK as well as other countries outside the US. We tailor our resources and services specifically toward the location of the patient and/or their families. Since the UK has one of the highest mesothelioma rates in the world, our patient advocates are trained particularity to answers questions and assist those individuals based in the UK.

The Mesothelioma Center’s patient advocates specialize in guiding mesothelioma patients, caregivers, and loved ones. Advocates are available seven days a week to assist people affected by asbestos-related diseases and to answer any questions or concerns about treatment, prognosis, and general information about asbestos exposure.
One of the most helpful programs offered is the Doctor Match program, which pairs patients with the nation’s best mesothelioma specialists. Patient Advocates are available to provide information about doctors who may be able to treat them best upon diagnosis, location and financial concerns. Advocates can also help patients get access to travel grants and financial assistance.
The Mesothelioma Center hosts monthly support groups, where patients and caregivers can attend via internet or by calling in. These sessions are guided by the center’s mental health counselor. The monthly support group is an opportunity for patients and caregivers to connect with others, identify sources of stress, and share their experiences with others in similar positions.
