On 22 March 2017 supporters of Compassionincare.com and thewhistler.org protested outside the headquarters of the Care Quality Commission (CQC). A copy of a letter to the Prime Minister protesting the Care Quality Commission’s failures, and its CEO David Behan’s knighthood, was handed in to CQC. WhereIsTheCare was there.
We were out with our care stand 11.09.16, not at the planned bootsale which was closed Nevendon, Basildon but found Rettendon Boot Sale which is on a beautiful site devoted to A Living Memory of war veterans. It was a lovely sunny day handing out a large amount of leaflets and we spoke to many - some professional carers who were as unhappy with some of the care they had witnessed as well as a number of angry families who had felt let down by the system who were were able to signpost to information. We made more contacts and hope some of those will come forward to support our website in the name of delivering good care.
We were with our care stand in windy Harlow on 04.09.16 speaking to carer families about local care services, various professionals and company owners offering to support our site in name. Thank you to them and to Barrows Road Boot Sale and staff.
Thank you to Leigh on Sea station Boot Sale where we stood with our care stand today. We appreciate very much our volunteer helpers Karis and Lisa and Sir David Amess MP for Southend West coming along to support us. We signposted some families in need and heard some care stories from the local area.

Essex Record Office, Chelmsford was the venue for event for carers to question Adult Social Care and NHS decision-makers organised by Healthwatch Essex. WhereIsTheCare were pleased to have a stand there. We stood in Romford Shopping Hall and would like to thank them for having us and their manager (in photo) and staff who helped us. Thanks to our 3 volunteers who helped Katie Warren (Lisa in photo). We walked the length of Romford market talking to lots of people and handing out our leaflets. And it was much appreciated Andrew Rossindell MP calling on us to support us.

WhereIsTheCare attended Healthwatch Essex's organised presentation hosted by Essex Carers Network (essexcarersnetwork.co.uk) at Christ Church, Chelmsford on 13 October 2015 by campaigner Tommy Whitelaw. He calls upon health / social care professionals to reflect on lived experience of carers and identify key messages / action that they can apply to everyday practice to improve outcomes for carers and people they care for. We were especially interested in the "Dementia Carers' Voices" project which you can find details of on www.alliance-scotland.org.uk.
Kevin and Katie Warren were at the Victoria Shopping Centre today. Thank you for our volunteer and to the shopping centre hosting us once again this yaer. And to security who were fantastic! We spoke to and signposted a lot of people today. It was great to have the support of: Leanne from Healthwatch Southend, Louise the Patient Involvement Lead from Southend University Hospital NHS Trust and Sir David Amess MP for Southend West come along to support us. And we can't forget Big Ted too ...

Katie Warren attended a 2 hour listening event at Broomfield Hospital's "In Your Shoes" to share experiences of care there. She was paired with Sheila Salmon, Chairman at Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust. Let's hope these events help improve delivery of healthcare in the future.

East of England Ambulance Service who supports WhereIsTheCare and engage with us taking our feedback on their services very transparently allowed us to stand with them as part of their stand in High Chelmer shopping centre on 10.09.15. It was a busy day, with the Ambulance Service carrying out 160 blood pressure tests for the public and WhereIsTheCare meeting lots of visitors. Thank you for the Ambulance Service, High Chelmer once again and Janet, our volunteer!

Community Therapy at Provide asked WhereIsTheCare along to talk about the website on 11.08.15. Katie met Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists etc and was very pleased to have been asked along, also gleaning some useful information for example community help hubs, Fall Prevention Service etc.

Silent protest outside House of Commons In support of changing the Public Information Disclosure Act Law in order to protect whistleblowers so that vulnerable elderly people are protected. Also attended presentation and questions at House of Commons by Eileen Chubb, of Compassion in Care and thewhistler.org with whistleblowers. Our MP Priti Patel's office came to support WhereIsTheCare and we thank her.
