  • Thank you for all your help with our complaint, I really think it helped to make some very positive changes to patient treatment and I thought the improved structure took some burden off the nursing staff”.
  • Many thanks for all your help and advice. We wanted to say a huge thank you for all your advice which certainly helped in dealing with the social worker”.
  • “I phoned someone I knew who told us about WhereIsTheCare.co.uk and I contacted them, now from them I know of a number of avenues to turn to.  I wasn’t given this information”.
  • After a long conversation she (Katie Warren) came up with several phone numbers that should be available to all and also xxxxxxxx’s number and email, someone responsible at Social Care at Essex Council. I am not sure what happened during this week but I had a group meeting soon after and did not know that there were that many people working for the NHS”.
  • Thank you for everything. You are doing a fantastic job”.
  • Eventually, my mother’s own G.P finally came out on Friday and I requested that my mother be sent to the Rapid Assessment Team at the Braintree Community Hospital to find out what was wrong with her. This was suggested on the advice from Where Is The Care”.
  • Katie and Kevin have been an invaluable source for me when I needed information”.
  • If it was not for Katie and Kevin Warren and Where Is The Care’s support I may not have been able to continue to be a carer now”.
  • Katie Warren told me about PALS, advocacy, social team workers in the hospital, no-one told me”.
  • It was only after speaking to Katie Warren from, ‘Where is the care,’ that we discovered there was re-ablement available.
31/03/2016 Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow – March 2016

Report of results from complaint.  Training had taken place for dementia, a new ward administrator to co-ordinate discharge and contact with family and friends of patients and a dedicated hospital diabetic nurse.  First-hand experience satisfactory, and more care visible for diabetic patients during delays.  No direct experience with new discharge procedures but daughter happy with the information received and treatment received for her eldelry father.  She feels our encouragement to raise concerns with P.A.H. has helped to make very positive change.

27/08/2015 Essex County Council – Adult Social Care

Councillor Anne Brown has responded to some concerns that have been raised and brought to her attention as requested.  She has successfully helped and resolved some of these areas. Thank you. One concern was not resolved and the complainant remains unsatisfied in the area of dementia care.  If you have any reports about dementia care in Essex please put your experience on this website.  Thank you.

17/08/2015 Age UK Essex

Age UK Essex appreciating our support and feedback and are taking action. With a report of poor service by us, the Chief Exec explains they have set up a Customer Care Centre to address these sorts of issues which is great.  And for two very isolated elderly folk we met they have gotten straight into contact and will be a lifeline to them with their befriending and other services.  Thank you.
