Attitudes to us – and the elderly? …

Last Friday (July 2015) we had homecare via XXXXXX Council who installed a wet room.  The contractors were very rude.  The builders sent from the Council installed a wet room, grab rails, chucked a curtain up, they said can’t have a toilet handle as it is not down on their list, and said they could only go with the cheapest quote as it is “year audit”.  They were so rude XXXXXX Builders, Mr XXXXXXX.   They didn’t check for drainage or any fundamental checking for wet room.

My daughter has been waiting for 1 year for her wet room, so far she has paid for everything herself to help her up til now.  XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Council sent XXXX Builders to quote her and me for it.  The builder was generally rude toward XXXXX (my daughter, who is unwell with a condition that affects her joints and so she dislocate very easily).  They were only prepared to throw a curtain up and denied her a toilet handle that would help to avoid crippling her hand.

They complained to the Council and were told they had to use XXXXX builders as they provided the cheapest quote and the Council would only pay for the cheapest quote.  They also at this time are not providing how much that is (figures) to the family.

XXXX Builders do not appear as a certified or a reputable building firm.

Things That Need Improving:

  1. Attitudes, is this how they deal with the elderly in their homes?
