Drop-In Service – Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow Free Drop-In Service Flyer.   Service is to help address unmet social needs for vulnerable groups - covering advice on debt, benefits, housing available in the hospital via Family Mosaic Weds 10am-12 noon.  The hospital trust is working on offering other advice too (i.e.for family carers) and at ward level, via the voluntary sector and the C.A.B. with objective to reduce readmissions and improve outcomes for patients.

Report on Carers’ Assessments 2016 by Healthwatch Essex Highlights findings of a survey about Carer Assessments – one of the mechanisms through which unpaid carers can access support, such as respite care and extra help.  Under the new Care Act 2014 Local Authorities have a legal duty to assess any unpaid carer who requests an assessment or who appears to need support.  But many people who took part in the survey did not know about these assessments, and were unclear about how they might help them
