Age UK Essex is a charity operating across Essex ‘Improving the lives of older people’ since 1949. Essex Dementia Care was set up in 2006 by an occupational therapist, Dr Tessa Perrin, in response to the needs of families living with dementia in Essex. The Chief Executive is Debbie Davis and she talks on this video about the range of services they provide which are designed to enable people with dementia to maintain the active lifestyle of their choice and to provide respite and emotional support to the main care-givers. They currently offer one-to-one support for people with dementia, and have activity centres in Braintree, Rayleigh and Leigh-on-Sea for those with dementia and their carers.
